This book is an absolutely fantastic, romantic, fun and intriguing novel that will really get the reader thinking about young romance. There are only a few characters which helps the reader to understand when coming on to the sequels : "three's a crowd" and "The one and only". The whole series is wonderfully thrilling but personally "six steps to a girl" is my favourite and the best one to start off the series. The whole book is about a boy called luke has recently lost his Father and meets his sister's new friend Eve at the funeral. With in the first day Luke sees Eve,he completely falls head over heals and wants her to be his. Unfortunately for Luke, ve already has a boyfriend but as the story unfolds things get more evxciting for the both of them with some dramatic happenings along the way.

Dominating Their Virgin Sub is the fourth book in The Virgin Auctions by Jenika Snow. While this book is part of a series it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. I chose this book because I enjoy reading Ms. Snow’s books. The other reason is I have read some of the other books in the series I have enjoyed them all.

Maylene Steefanos was raised from a mere baby to be a submissive. She is auctioned off as a virgin. Maylene is put to the test when she ends up the submissive to two Doms. Griffin and Nikolas a twin siblings who have the same taste in woman. However, Griffin wants a wife and Nikolas wants a sub he can dominate.

The chemistry between Griffin, Nikolas, and Maylene is blistering. They make a great trio together. I loved that both Griffin and Nikolas were able to find one person that fulfilled there needs beyond their expectations. The sex scenes were scorching hot.

I found this book well written. The main and secondary characters were stimulating and lifelike. This book does a great job of sucking you into the story and not letting go until you have finished the book. Overall, this was an enjoyable story. I can’t wait to read the next book in the story.

Book four in this fabulous romance on the go series about a futuristic time where virgins are auctioned off to the highest bidders in order to become their wives. We meet Maylene Steefanos a beautiful girl who has been specifically trained to be a submissive bride and to be all that her future bidder / husband desires. But what she wasn't expecting were to be the bid upon by two strong dominant men who are brothers that share everything and they want that to include sharing her as their submissive. Their training and relationship will bring on a whole new meaning to the term submit! This is where we meet the sinfully delicious Nikolas and Griffin St. Michaels. The brothers of the dashingly handsome Kristoff St Michaels from books one and three of this wonderful series. These two dominant brothers share everything and have a wonderful life, but Griffin is now craving more. As he and Nikolas do everything together he finds himself going along with the idea of taking a wife to keep his brother happy. He had no idea what seeing the beautiful Maylene would do to him. This story was told beautifully, and there was a good plot and amount of passion throughout. The bond between the three characters was shown throughout and also how it changed and grew amongst them all once Maylene entered their lives. Another fabulous read from the amazingly talented Jenika Snow! Happy Reading!

This book was also read in one day, in about two hours for me. The book was short and never delved into much detail regarding the characters back ground. I find it hard to get into a book when holes are left in the story.

Legacy of Bitterness: Ethiopia and Fascist Italy 1935-91 is an important study of the relationship between Ethiopia and Fascist Italy during the 1930s. Italy's colonial ambitions in Ethiopia and the gallant resistance of the Ethiopians led to global segmentation of world opinion. The legacy of bitterness in Italo-Ethiopian relations to which the title refers stems from the fact that the Italians, besides using poison gas during the invasion of Ethiopia, continued to commit atrocities against the colonial people during their five year presence in Ethiopia. In the anti-colonial resistance of the Ethiopians to Fascist rule, moreover, the Ethiopian nobility was conspicuously absent, focused as it was on its own self-preservation. In spite of a lack of leadership and coordination, however, the Ethiopians patriots delayed Italian demographic colonization and drained the Italian economy by keeping Ethiopia in a state of continuous warfare. The emergent Black nationalism of that period capitalized on the precarious internal situation of Ethiopia to win world public opinion and support in preventing the recognition of the Italian Empire. Italy's atrocities, including the use of banned poison gas, posed a dilemma that had to be addressed by the Western powers. The international community, for political reasons and military considerations - primarily the containment/appeasement of Nazi Germany - proceeded to eliminate the economic sanctions against Italy which had been imposed by the League of Nations, after two years of debate, acknowledged the (illegal) acquisition of Ethiopia by Italy. Thus was Ethiopia sacrificed for the security of Europe. The author, a renowned authority on the subject, has skillfully provided a broad perspective on the Italo-Ethiopian war global terms. His study looks at the response to the war by emergent black nationalism in the Diaspora, and Ethiopia's bitter struggle to tip the balance of world opinion in its favor.

About the Author
Alberto Sbacchi is Professor of History at Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts. In 1993, Professor Sbacchi was inducted as a knight of the prestigious Cavaliere dell'Ordine al Merito della Republica Italiana (Knighthood of the Order of Merit of the Italian republic) for his outstanding contribution to Italian culture and scholarship. The author of five books and numerous articles, Alberto Sbacchi is considered one of the world's leading experts on the Italian Empire and Italy's involvement in Ethiopia.

One Crucial Point of Bitterness Omitted

The author presented how the mighty European powers sacrificed Ethiopian independence in a clear and unambigous manner. All the relevant facts and supporting documents were apppropriate.
But I am NOT sure why, Mr. Sbacchi failed to mention that The Pope's tacit support of the camapaign. In fact to set an example,he donated the Papal ring to help finace the Italian invasion of Ethiopia. This act by the Pope infuriated a number of Eritreans, who then not only converted to The Ethiopian Orhtodox faith in protest, but also deserted Italy, and joined the Ethiopian patriots. The Pope's act left one of more Legacy of bitterness, since most thought that a Christian can not be cruel to another Christian. And they found out that European Christians are never meant to be equal with African Christians. Overall, it is a comendable work and I hope to see more like it.

Has good information with lots of filler

I bought this book because I was writing a research paper on the Italo-Ethiopian War, and seeing as this humongous volume was written all about it, I was thrilled.. and I wasn't disappointed. It has lots of information about the war and was a great help in helping me narrow down my topic; it also covers background to the war, etc. However, I only found about half of the book at all relevant to what I was trying to find. Nevertheless, this fault does not affect the usefulness of the book, except that it just makes it a whole lot heavier. Not my choice for a light afternoon read, but very good for research.

Interesting collection of essays about the Italo-Ethiopian War

Be careful with this book: I bought it for use in a history essay, expecting it to be a single work. Instead, Alberto Sbacchi, the noted Italian scholar and critic of imperialism, who is listed as the author, compiled a series of essays ranging from the 1970s to the present about the history of Italy in Ethiopia. There is a special concentration on Italian generals' use of poison gas against the Ethiopians, which is a little-adressed subject. Essentially, it is useful as a general reference, but be aware of bias and don't depend on it as a serious piece of historography.

A book by a scholar for scholars

This is a book by a serious scholar that might be useful only to other very serious scholars. Those lacking a PhD in ancient Roman history may sometimes feel that each page contains more hair-splitting details than the page before it.

There are NO diagrams, pictures, photos, or illustrations.The vocabulary is sometimes intimidating. (I have a bachelor's degree; I'm a summa cum laude graduate. I've vacationed in Rome and Athens and enjoyed lectures given by scholars with PhD's in Ancient Roman Studies. However, I found Dr. Sage's vocabulary to be unnecessarily complex.)

Even the overviews expect the reader to have knowledge of the subject matter and the vocabulary.
Those who are looking for pleasurable reading should look elsewhere (perhaps to Roth's ROMAN WARFARE).
Those interested in near microscopic precision will admire this book.

George M. Marakas is an associate professor of Information Systems at the School of Business at the University of Kansas. His teaching expertise includes Systems Analysis and Design, Technology-Assisted Decision Making, Electronic Commerce, Management of IS Resources, Behavioral IS Research Methods, and Data Visualization and Decision Support. In addition, George is an active researcher in the area of Systems Analysis Methods, Data Mining and Visualization, Creativity Enhancement, Conceptual Data Modeling, and Computer Self-Efficacy. George received his PhD in Information Systems from Florida International University in Miami and his MBA from Colorado State University. Throughout his academic career, George has distinguished himself both through his research and in the classroom. He has received numerous national teaching awards and his research has appeared in the top journals in his field. I had to get this for a class. It comes as loose leaf bundle of paper that has no resale value.

The authors are stuck in the land that IT forgot. This is an old book with a couple references to "new" technology thrown in to justify a new edition. They talk a lot about mainframes, microcomputer workstations, and modems. A few fun quotes about "Information Appliances" from page 91:

"cellular phones and pagers...promise internet access and the ability to perform basic computational chores."

"the RIM BlackBerry, a small, pager-sized device that can perform all of the common PDA functions, plus act as a fully functional mobile telephone...doesn't even have a visible antenna."

"new entrants to this field...the iPhone essentially combines three products--a revolutionary mobile phone, a wide-screen iPod music and video player..."

I paid $140 for this book to find out that that Apple makes a phone that plays music?

Introduction to information systems

This book is just what it claims to be--an introduction to information systems. There is not a tremendous amount of detail here, but I believe there is enough to give the reader a good idea of the concepts involved. At times, the author does seem to carry on more than is needed, and often you can understand the concept of a chapter very well just by reading the sentences containing the bold words. The best part of the book, in my opinion, is the use of real-world examples, to show how the concepts discussed are being put into use, and how they have benefited real-life companies.
Chances are, if you're buying this book, it's for a college level course. I am a non-business major, and this book was part of a class I took as a general education credit. For this, I think the book is adequate, because it gives a decent introductions into IS without a lot of details. BIS majors, however, will not benefit a great deal from this book, as everything is so basic that it will be of little benefit to someone serious about working with information systems.

Introduction to Information Systems is the book that we are using in my 300 level Business Class in college. I found this book to be well illustrated and informative. It has some information that I have covered in earlier computer classes, but with a litter more in depth knowledge. I have found that the Summary at the end of each Chapter covers the main points, but leaves out some important information. I have found the Review Quiz at the end of each Chapter to be most helpful study tool. The book is well illustrated and contains alot of business examples. I think this is a good book for upper level information systems classes.
