About the Author

Kristoffer Hughes (Wales) is Chief of the Anglesey Druid Order, a Mount Haemus Scholar, and a member of the Order of Bards Ovates and Druids. He is a teacher, writer, workshop leader, and guest speaker at Pagan conferences, camps, and festivals throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. Hughes has also contributed to Welsh and English television and radio.

Finally a pagan book that bridges the gap between the basic and the academic

Deep in the mountains of Wales echo the myths, legends and tales of our ancestors, tales retold around winter firesides, short and brief to recount and relay to our children, rarely written down in a full meaningful form we are left wanting more... Kristoffer Hughes has filled that void with his new book from the Cauldron Born!
Very few books other than the actual dissection of ancient texts by academics go into such detail, and in a language, we the reader can understand. It is warm and comfortable, draws you in to mist covered lake shores in the home of many of our forefathers, the land of the Cymru, and leaves you full of the inspiration from the Cauldron! The exercises contained within those pages, are full of wisdom, beauty and knowledge, and will serve the reader to journey through the ritual year our ancestors felt and experienced

A book to experience.

I just finished reading "from the Cauldron Born Exploring the Magic of Welsh Legend & Lore", this is not a book just to read but one you experience. At the end and even in the middle of some of the chapters there are exercises for you to do. Sometimes I would get so caught up in the exercise I would lose all track of time. There is so much information in this book that I believe it could be read and reread and each time would be a new experience. I am looking forward to the year long ritual at the end of the book. All I can say is that the flowing spirit of Awen is felt on each and every page. I loved it.

About the Author
Griffis (1843-1928) travelled to Japan in 1870 to teach and soon became a leading educator in Tokyo. His work took him around the country meeting various prominent people. He wrote and lectured extensively on Japan upon his return home, becoming the West's most respected authority on Japanese culture. He received the Order of the Rising Sun in 1928.

A reference for any serious Indian enthusiast

For true enthusiasts, motorcycling litterature is often far too general. This particular book from Jerry Hatfield takes the opposite approach. It is not only about Indian, but Indian Chief motorbikes exclusively. As a result, you get only the information you need, year after year, including the original color schemes from the factory documents. A lot of good pictures of restored bikes add to the information. This is perhaps my only minor objection: more original photographic material would completely close the case. Hatfield preferred to address this in his equally important book, a photographic history of Indian motorcycles. If you want to properly restore an Indian, do not start before you have read these two books. If you simply love these bikes but don't intend to ever own one, "Indian Motorcycles" will be a better choice.

Well worth a read...

A well illustrated and very interesting book which gives the full historical background to the development of this iconic motocycle. A lot of technical detail for the restorer, but wade through this and there are fascinating insights into the development of American motor culture, the expansion of metalled roads, petrol stations and motels, all required background to the motocycles themselves and how they were marketed. For once a book thats more than just a history of oil pumps!

This is a great retrospective of Indian brand motorcyles. The photos are top notch. The writting is on target and Hatfield has done his research. A must for all motorcycle enthusiasts.

About the Author
PAUL O'GRADY first came to fame in the guise of Lily Savage, and was nominated for a Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1991. Excellent. Aside from being well-explained, the book maintains focus and assumes a particular level of familiarity with Linux in a production environment. Often, Technical Books have to assume, from the audience level, someone completely new to a subject, though this book does a great job guiding you along.
Almost the equivalent of a Master Class you might have taken in Music School &c.

The author shows a progressive build-out of a Web-facing environment, and well-explains the tools and in many cases, reasons for choosing a certain approach. The subject alone could be written about in many volumes, especially when going into detail about a particular layer of a Stack, such as the Storage.

It gives you all the information you need to know, and if you want to learn more about a topic it teaches you what you need to know to explore further. If you're looking into scaling a LAMP stack I'd say this is a must read.

A Classic!

Reigeluth's book was a classic when it was published and it still is. This is a very important book which brings together the very best known instructional theories of the 70's. It starts with "Instructional Design: What is it and why is it?" and continues with the models and theories of instructional design. I especially liked the theoretical framework presented in the book that serves as a 'schema' for interpreting, understanding, and evaluating instructional design theories. By doing that, this book highly contributes to the field of instructional design that is so distributed and diverse.
Every instructional designer should read this book to base their design on the theories presented in the book for effective and efficient instruction. I especially liked the way the book is organized so that it can even be used to teach instructional design to novice. Reigeluth even provides guidelines for it in the beginning of the book. I used it in my teaching and I received very positive feedback from my students. It is my belief that every instructional designer should have this one of a kind book.

This should be in every instructional designer's library.

This book provides a great overview of the theories and models that shaped the field of instructional design up through the 70's. It is a popular primer and reference guide for the field. Reigeluth provides a history and description of the field of instructional design. He then provides a theoretical framework for comparing instructional models and theories. In Unit II, the theories and models are introduced by Reigeluth, with biographical information about the theorists. The theories and models are usually described by the actual theorists. Reigeluth has written volume II of this book, which covers later theories and models. There was also a companion book, Instructional Theories in Action: Lessons Illustrating Selected Theories and Models, written in 1987, which demonstrates how the theories can be implemented to design courses. These books can be a little abstract for those new to the field. However, if you want a hands-on guide to design, also get Instructional Design Strategies and Tactics by Cynthia B. Leshin, Joellyn Pollock, and Charles M. Reigeluth.

If you're an instructional designer or curriculum developer buy this book - it will make you better at what you do! I purchased this book over 10 years ago and as my career as an Instructional Designer has progressed, it has turned out to be my most trusted source. No other book in my I.D. library is as dog-eared, annotated and worn. Even after nearly 20 years, the information in this book is still as relevant and useful as it was the day it first rolled off the press.
